The word “shift” took on new meaning for me a little over five years ago. I was fortunate enough to study with a Shaman who opened my eyes to so many new things, including shifts. We discussed Heavenly shifts and how they affected us, and why being grounded is so important. Prior to these one-on-one discussions, I had worked second shift in the factory back in the day and that’s all I knew about a shift.
The Heavenly shifts can be so powerful. I’ve had full moons rock me to my very core. About five years ago when the Winter Solstice hit, I wasn’t sure I was going to make it. I felt like I was coming out of my skin and I guess I was. I had just become a Reiki Master Teacher around that time and my entire being was going through shifts. I wrote enough for an entire book one night. The words just poured out of me.
I should probably go back and read those words one day. But, it was so exhausting and the words were so powerful. It was a once in a lifetime event. I am convinced of that. Parts of me have never been the same because of the shifts that were taking place during that time. We see what the moon does to an ocean and we’re mostly made up of water. Think about it. I could’ve easily called that piece, “Shifts.” Maybe I will someday. It was exhausting but something that helped keep me grounded, focused and moving forward. I had energy running through my veins like I had never felt before.
As I watched the screen and my fingers were hammering the keyboard, I was expressing feelings that were coming from deep within my soul. There was no filter. I still think the title of the book sounds like a best seller. We’ll see what happens. Timing is everything.
The writing took so much out of me that I had to just set it aside. At the time, my shifts were 24/7 and they were anything but subtle. Call ’em spiritual growing pains. The Master Shaman mentioned earlier helped me navigate these new waters and taught me to always keep my focus on the healing work in my thoughts and actions. She taught me that anyone can be a healer by the way we approach each day. I miss you Brooke and Thank You. Eternally grateful. See ya’ around.
Once you commit to this kind of work, it is imperative to keep the energy flowing, even if it is for self-healing. Or, should I say – especially if it’s for self-healing. I get into trouble when I forget about the magnificent power of Reiki because I’m all caught up in things that Dr. Mikao Usui, Reiki’s Founder, told me not to get caught up in. He said, “Just for today, do not worry. Just for today, do not anger.” So simple and so powerful and such words of wisdom. I feel a sense of peace when I hear those simple words. Just for today… I can do that! The key is to keep the reminders to a minimum as we go about our day without worry and without anger.
I spent some time with self-Reiki last night and it helped me weather the latest shifts that I am experiencing. We all forget at times but it sure feels good when we remember we have Reiki with us. Reiki helps everything – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Why do we sometimes forget about it? We’re human, that’s why.
Take it from one who knows – it’s important to stay grounded – no matter what else is going on around you. Take time for yourself and keep the energy flowing. Strive to reach your highest level of well-being by remaining grounded and true to yourself. If something doesn’t feel right to you, there’s a reason for it. It’s not right for you and God is whispering in your ear and giving you that feeling you have in your gut. Trust it. If you can’t trust God, who can you trust?
When we keep the Reiki energy flowing, we are better able to handle the many shifts that come our way. There is only one constant – change. Shifts = Change. May your shifts flow freely and smoothly as you continue on your journey.
