I have had the honor of teaching Reiki to so many talented people. It has been a while since I taught an in-person class. Because of COVID-19, we are looking into online possibilities for the future. My class in March had to be postponed, and the one scheduled for early May is also postponed.

In the meantime, I seem to be doing more Reiki than ever before. This healing energy is so remarkable and continues to help me in all areas of my life. “The secret art of inviting happiness,”* is the gift that keeps on giving. Reiki makes everything better, including safely maneuvering through a pandemic.

Just about every night I share Distance Reiki with many people and animals. With everything going on right now, tensions are high with the fear of the unknown. As a result, my evenings are busy as I share Reiki with those who contact me for healing, as well as for situations around the world. I now spend as much time on sending Reiki to the world as I do for individuals and families. Everything expands – including Reiki.

I received a gentle nudge this morning to reach out to my students and offer a refresher for Distance Reiki. At the beginning of every Reiki class, I always thank the students for attending and tell them, “We need you – now more than ever.” That statement has never been truer than it is today. So, with that in mind, my hope is that this refresher on Distance healing is helpful as you continue on your journey.

My daughter, who is also a Reiki Master, says, “You can’t half ass it,” when it comes to Distance Reiki. In other words, if you’re not feeling it, don’t fake it. Use the energy for self-healing instead. Before I begin any Distance session, I always begin with myself.

I watch the flickering eternal flame of Holy Fire with my third eye as I draw the flame on both hands, going in circles as the energy builds. The energy is then sent through my arms and throughout my entire body. This is my warm up. I may put the power symbol on both knees as I ground myself for a solid foundation for healing. It is important for us to be well grounded before sharing the energy. Take it from one who always seems to learn things the hard way. Grounding yourself is time well spent.

Sometimes, I will give myself a healing attunement at the beginning of the session. As I do this, I am looking at the magnificent beauty of the Rocky Mountains outside of my window. The work is usually done between 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., so I can see the many stars in the night sky, and will work with them later as I send Reiki to situations around the world. The stars help me spread the healing far and wide with no limitations.

I thank God, my Higher Sources and the Great Ones for being with me on this special night. They are the ones who do all of the heavy lifting for me. I am simply a channel or middle man for the healing energy. I spend more time on myself and will receive a gentle nudge when it’s time to begin sharing Reiki with others.

I call in the Distance symbol and walk into it with my third eye. Then, I focus on the ones who have contacted me. In most cases, I begin with a healing attunement on their crown. Depending on the situation, I will then emphasize the different sacred symbols at the appropriate time. If someone is struggling emotionally, I will place what I call the emotional hat on their head, which is SHK. I will probably place CKR and the Holy Fire flame on their feet for grounding and strength. “Step into Power!” (Thank You Laurelle Gaia!)

The key is for me to get out of my own way and allow Reiki to work its wonders. As I see visions and receive gentle nudges, I incorporate them into the session. The Holy Fire flame is used for a deep cleansing as I use it to go up and down on someone 7x. After the clearing, they are placed on the flickering flame kind of like a lounge chair as they simply relax and float on the energy.

I might use my Reiki Teddy Bears – Rei & Brother Rei, or I may not. Sometimes, I use my Master crystal or other stones depending on the situation. For example, if someone needs protection, I might incorporate Labradorite into the treatment. But, remember, we really don’t need anything else other than our intentions. So, don’t feel like you need an elaborate ritual or guidelines that must be followed. You have the gift of healing. Simply follow your heart. You will hear from the recipients of the energy just how powerful the session was for them. Believe.

Trust. Trust God. Trust Higher Sources. Trust the Great Ones. Trust yourself and let it flow. Everyone always tells me how light they feel after a Distance Reiki session. There’s a very good reason for that. Reiki’s energy helped them leave behind any baggage or heavy weights that were holding them back. Plus, I end every session by sending them floating into the sky, leaning back on one of Reiki’s symbols or the flame like a floating lounge chair.

I always wrap people up in my “Reiki Comforter,” which is like very light sheets or layers with each one being a different symbol. I work with 7 symbols, with the final one being the sign of the cross for Christ Consciousness. I want to make sure that all of that good energy is sealed in for their well-being.

Recently, I was contacted by a woman from a New York hospital who is on the front lines fighting COVID-19. We placed the Holy Fire Flame and Cross at the entrance to the hospital. Countless golden flickering flames spread throughout every nook and cranny of the building and touched all of the people. I used this same method last night for a house clearing. It’s very powerful. You can do the same with any of Reiki’s sacred symbols or simply with your intentions. Be creative. The only limitations are the ones we place on ourselves.

There are many different methods of separating from another soul. This is a very important step that should not be ignored. I have heard different stories of cutting or slashing for separation. I use the Raku symbol for separating. Just like the other symbols, Raku is very powerful and will separate and protect you. I learned this symbol in my first Master class but see no harm in sharing it with others for this purpose. It is important for us to separate when we are finished.

Each Distance Reiki session is unique, depending on what I feel or what I am led to focus on. Simply trust and follow the guidance, and don’t worry about not doing something right. When it comes to Reiki, I have learned over the years, that it all works. It’s all good. Just like I said when you attended my class, “Thank You for attending. We need you – now more than ever.” Help us spread Reiki’s healing energy around the world as we raise the vibration of the planet. Trust and Believe in your power as a Reiki practitioner. God Bless You.

p.s. If you took a Reiki Level I class and have not been introduced to the Distance symbol yet, use this time to keep your vibration high through self healing. You too are a key member of the healing team of Reiki practitioners and light workers. Send prayers of love to the world. Keep up the good work! I know of one student who is able to send Distance Reiki to others after receiving a Distance attunement from me. Her intentions are pure and straight from her heart. You can make a big difference in our world.

p.’s.’ I always wash my hands before and after every Reiki session.
