I’m the guy who said those words about distance healing. I was Reiki Level I and didn’t know what I didn’t know yet. I had no plans on going any further on my Reiki journey. Yet, roughly 6 months later, I was learning about distance healing in my Reiki Level II class.
Reiki was still fairly new to me when I was getting a massage in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The massage therapist said to me, “Jeff, you need to learn about the symbols and distance healing. You need to do this.” It was the way she said it to me that made me realize that I should pay attention to her words and then take action. Everything happens for a reason, doesn’t it?
I had a tough time wrapping my head around the whole concept of distance healing until I started to receive an abundance of honest, heartfelt and positive comments from those I was sending the healing energy to. Those people made a believer out of me. How could this possibly work? They couldn’t all be lying to me or just being nice could they?
Once we understand that we all really are connected, then distance healing makes more sense. Distance healing is prayer in action and the universal life energy force comes directly from our Creator. Reiki practitioners tap into this energy and anybody can do it. What an amazing gift!
In a world hell bent on walls, divisiveness and separatism while consumed with arguments and hate, saying that we are all connected can be dismissed as lunacy. But, the bottom line is that all living things are connected, and everything is energy. Distance healing proved that to me. Thankfully, my life will never be the same.
I live on a mountain in Evergreen, Colorado. Yet, I have been able to help people heal all over the world from things like cancer, ptsd, insomnia, nightmares, broken bones, broken hearts, fibromyalgia, depression, flu, sinus infections, bruises, sexual abuse, respiratory issues, allergies, spinal issues, eye issues, skin ailments, ear issues, just about any kind of pain you can imagine, and even transitioning from this life to the next. All of this work was done from a distance. Weird? Okay, call me weird. But, the results speak for themselves.
When I do the work, I start with me. I focus on grounding and opening up to the possibilities that “The Team” will offer me on this sacred night. I lovingly call my spiritual guides, “The Team.” They do all of the heavy lifting for me. I am simply a middle man, a channel for the divine healing energy that we call Reiki.
I let the energy flow as my hands heat up like a furnace and I get into a zone. It can be like a meditative state. Everything expands and this principle comes into effect during a distance healing session. After working with Reiki for self-healing, I shift my focus to those who have requested Reiki from a distance.
As I channel the energy, I may see images, hear things and even smell different things as I connect with them. When I finish working on them, I give them a healing attunement, wrap them in my “Reiki Comforter,” and send them on their way – “light as a feather.” They have been cleared of negative energy as they now beam with the new, positive energy of Reiki. Then, I move onto the next person or animal.
If I get a nudge to go back to someone I worked on earlier, I will. But, each individual gets my full attention during the session. Again, everything expands as I focus on the world after working on individuals. There is no shortage of places to send Reiki. Reiki is love and our world needs Reiki now more than ever. It’s no wonder that it is one of the fastest growing healing modalities today. Reiki always delivers peace, love and hope to any situation. Thank God for Reiki.
When I studied with a Shaman, she taught me how powerful my intentions are. She was not one for elaborate rituals or showmanship. Instead, she taught me to simply focus on the work at hand, get out of the way and let the divine guide me as I shared the gift of healing with others. I can hear her saying, “You don’t need to say anything 3 times or light a candle or any of that other stuff. You are so powerful. Just focus on the work and let the energy flow.”
Sometimes, I think of her and simply sit quietly as I pray and visualize the healing that is taking place. Other times, I might use my Master Crystal or my 2 distance teddy bears – Rei and Brother Rei during the session. It all depends on how I’m feeling. But, no matter what approach I choose, the results are always incredible.
Remember how powerful your intentions are. This is why I stress to my students the importance of paying close attention to our thoughts. Everything begins with a single idea. Is that thought leading you to your higher self or just someone else’s thought taking up space in your head? If it is helping you, let it hang around and watch it expand. If not, kick it out!
I have been contacted by many Reiki practitioners who are reluctant to add distance healing to their repertoire. I get it. I was the same way. During my classes, I instill confidence in my students and convey that if I can do it, anybody can do it. Believe in the infinite possibilities of healing physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually – from a distance, and the sky is the limit. We are all connected and as one of my friends said to me after helping her with knee pain from a distance, “just a thought away.”
“Jeff, you have had tremendous success with me. Isn’t that amazing to be reaching me from so far away (just a thought away). I was in a bad way before you sent healing powers to my knees…I haven’t experienced any pain since you started and I am up and down these 3 and 4 flights of stairs all day long chasing a 3-year-old with a 3 month old in my arms. I am so grateful. I love the visualization of Saturn rings; this gives me something to continue to imagine and keep the healing light right there – always. Thank you so much! Sending love back to you!”
