By Jeff Baird, Sunrise Reiki Colorado
I will always remember that day when I was first introduced to The Original Reiki Ideals:
The secret art of inviting happiness
The miraculous medicine of all diseases
Just for today, do not be angry
Do not worry and be filled with gratitude
Devote yourself to your work and be kind to people
Every morning and evening join your hands in prayer
pray these words to your heart
and chant these words with your mouth
Usui Reiki Treatment for improvement of body and mind
The founder…Mikao Usui
The words above changed my life forever. Once we decide to walk a spiritual path, there’s no going back and thank God for that. Embracing and living by the Reiki precepts is a daily promise that we make to our Creator and to ourselves. God, I thank you for this day, and just for today I will do my best. I promise. That’s the arrangement.
I hope that you love the work that you do. When I first started writing this article, I was going to call it, “The Work.” But, then I realized I had already named an earlier article, “The Work.” Recently, I heard about a person being sentenced, and thought I would use that word with my tongue planted firmly in my cheek. I have been blessed with Reiki for life – not sentenced. Us Baird’s can be smartasses sometimes.
Once we are given the gift of Reiki’s healing energy, why would we hold it back in any situation? It always makes things better – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I have rediscovered the amazing benefits of Reiki’s self-healing power. I always told my Reiki students to keep the energy flowing. It has been my experience that the more we use it the stronger it gets, as our vibration rises to a higher level. It’s important for us to learn to let it flow, let it go and let it be.
Once again, I hope that you love the work that you do. Work can be so rewarding and adds purpose to our lives. Follow your passions and invite Reiki into your workplace. Last week I attended a four day meeting that was one of the greatest meetings I have ever been a part of, and I have sat in many. Shortly after I found my seat, I visualized the sacred Reiki symbols on the four walls. Then, I placed Holy Fire on the floor and Christ consciousness and the sign of the cross on the ceiling. The room was beaming. Ask anybody who was there.
The room was already high energy. Anyone who spent time in that room was able to experience all of the amazing things that happened as we worked together as a team. Reiki brought a higher vibration and we all responded accordingly as we each had our moments to shine. I was in the presence of so many incredible people. I have many new friends who were strangers less than a week ago. We all feel a connection and talked about staying in touch. We are all wishing the very best for our fellow students and co-workers. It’s a beautiful thing. We’re in this together.
I wish you the best on your journey. May your work bring prosperity and purpose and may you live your life to the fullest. When things seem like they are flying off the tracks, remember the Reiki Ideals – just for today. Together, we can do it. There’s great strength in numbers and when you have a group of like minded people with a shared vision, the sky is the limit.
The world needs us, now more than ever, to keep our vibrations high and our energy positive. Regardless of the work that we do we can make a difference in our collective consciousness. There will always be daily challenges to stay true to the Reiki ideals and our higher selves. The choice is ours to make. Just for today…
