I am so grateful to call beautiful Evergreen, Colorado my home. It was a dream come true to move to this amazing community in 2013. The mountain range behind us is one that I sketched and painted as a child long before actually seeing it in-person when we moved here. I am so blessed to see that majestic range on a daily basis, and it is particularly special to view as I send Distance Reiki to where the healing energy is needed.

We live on sacred ground and our lives were changed forever by Evergreen’s beauty, wildlife and the many people we have made friends with. I just love being here and experiencing Colorado’s beauty up close and personal. The photo accompanying this article was taken by my wife shortly after we moved in. That jumping Elk was coming into our yard and Tami caught him in action at the perfect time. Just another magnificent moment in Evergreen.

Yesterday morning, as I walked out of Wulf Recreation Center, which is just a stairway from Evergreen High School, I could not have imagined the news that would shatter our world in a matter of hours. “School shooting at Evergreen High School” was everywhere. I still can’t believe it, but on this day of national remembrance, the cold reality is settling in and unfortunately, we will never be the same.

It’s hard for me to put into words how much I love Evergreen, and how my heart wants to do whatever possible to help my beautiful mountain community. I am giving back the best way I know how – by offering complimentary Reiki sessions for all Evergreen High School students, parents, family members, teachers and staff. You can come to me or I will bring Reiki to you. When the timing is right for you, please reach out to me at (720) 250-8107 or jeff@sunrisereikicolorado.com. I have had the honor of helping many violence survivors and those with PTSD. You will be in good hands as Reiki delivers some much needed peace, love and comfort. God Bless Evergreen, Colorado.
