Recently, a fairly new but still dear friend of mine asked who Brother Rei (‘ray’) was via text. I had sent him a photo of my wife on my Reiki table during a recent session, which also included Brother Rei on her back; between her shoulder blades, where she has been experiencing some pain.

I have used this loaded with personality teddy bear for countless Distance Reiki sessions – treating Rei as a distance healing surrogate for the person I am trying to help, who is located somewhere other than my Reiki office. But, the photo taken of my wife the other night was the first time I specifically included Rei for an in-person session. Why not? I know what this sweet little bear is capable of doing! I have learned so many times to just try different things and trust Reiki. There are no hard set rules or guidelines to follow. That’s what I love most about Reiki. It’s all about results, as we do our part to ease the pain of another. How we get to that place is unique to every Reiki practitioner.

My Mom gave me Brother Rei, after I returned home from my first hip replacement. I had no idea at the time what an amazing gift my sweet mother had given me. But, I could tell you many stories how Rei and I worked together when I first started sending Reiki from a distance. I would focus on a certain area of his body, and as the heat lessened, I learned that it was time to move to the next spot.

Then, as I studied with a Shaman, and continued on my Reiki journey, I learned that all I needed for Distance Reiki to be successful was the best of intentions and to follow that feeling with my heart. I just needed to get out of the way and allow Reiki to do the rest. So, I went through a phase where I only used my intentions when sending Reiki.

But, then I started working with different stones and crystals again for my distance sessions. I always have plenty of stones and crystals nearby, but they are not always used during remote sessions. It depends on whether or not I’m guided to pick up anything to hold in my hands or have nearby. Then, during this time, I kind of got reacquainted with Brother Rei all over again. His track record for helping me is second to none and it was fun to work with him again. He sits proudly on my Reiki table.

Coming from a man who was once the most skeptical person walking the planet, I can tell you that I got over feeling funny about a grown man holding a teddy bear after I first heard back from my Reiki client just how powerful their distance session with me was for them. I always get to hear about such amazing results. Brother Rei is loaded with Reiki. He’s a good guy to have around.

I have a friend who is a Reiki Master and takes her Distance Teddy Bear with her on the road. Some of the photos I have seen from on the road are hilarious. As a Reiki practitioner, you learn from experiences what is best for you. The important thing is that you are helping us heal the world – one soul at a time.

If you or a loved one are in any kind of pain, please consider Reiki. You’ll be glad that you did.
