As my 10th anniversary of first being attuned to Reiki approaches, I can’t help but think of all of the people and animals I have been able to help thanks to this sacred healing energy. Sharing Reiki from a Distance is one of my deep passions as I get to meet people from all over the world, and do my part to help them along their way. I share Reiki from a Distance with others on a daily basis, but it isn’t often that I am on the receiving end.

Recently, I threw out my lower back and messed up my shoulders and neck shoveling snow. The pain was intense and I had a hard time just getting in and out of a chair. I reached out to three of my Reiki students and asked them if they could send me some healing energy for some much needed pain relief. These talented healers did not disappoint. I could feel the energy as they sent Reiki that night. Shortly after, I fell asleep. The next morning my pain was pretty much gone and I had a new spring in my step that had been missing for a few days. I was ready to take on the day and felt so good!

I am so fortunate to receive the calls, text messages and emails from clients who reaped the benefits from a Distance Reiki session the night before. They always tell me how well they slept. If you are having a tough time getting a restful night’s sleep, please try Reiki. It works better than anything else. Take it from one who knows and who used to take sleeping pills every night before Reiki entered my life. Reiki helps us sleep as our wheels slow down and the pain leaves our body. This just happened to me a couple of days ago and I still have that spring in my step.

I do miss sharing Reiki with others in-person. But, there are also many benefits to being the recipient of a Distance session as well. You can make yourself comfortable in your own home as you receive the healing energy. Many of my clients have their Distance routines as I send the energy. Some listen to soft music, while others go into a meditative state. Some lay on healing mats while others get into warm water. I know some people who like to be under the stars during a Distance session. There is nothing special that you need to do on your end other than being open to receiving the energy. I know a woman who likes to hold her young child as she receives Reiki and another who lays with her puppy. Whatever feels right to you is all that matters. Reiki will do what Reiki does no matter how you choose to receive the energy, as it helps heal your body, mind and spirit.

After almost 10 years of doing healing work, the newness of Reiki will never wear off for me. It’s such a mystery and one that I embrace and allow to work its wonders. My recent experience from a Distance was just a reminder of how powerful this energy really is. If you are in any kind of pain, please consider a Distance Reiki session. You’ll be glad that you did.
