When I was just a kid, I recited The Lord’s Prayer every night out of fear. I didn’t really pay attention to the words, as much as I paid attention to how fast I could say those words before going to sleep. I had learned the prayer in Sunday school. My young mind thought saying this prayer was kind of a safety net that would protect me from a God who I was convinced was usually angry with me for my sinful behavior. At that young age, I had been introduced to prayer. But, it would be many years later before I actually understood the real power of prayer and why it is so important.
After the latest tragedy, a high-profile person might say something like, “Our thoughts and prayers are with you.” It’s like a slogan that we hear quite often, as there is no shortage of tragedies in our world today. They seem to be everywhere. Some might post “Pray for ______” (fill in the blank) on their social media page. I see requests for prayer on many social sites, and also receive requests on a regular basis for prayer from people who know me, and others who just know of me. We can never have too many prayers for healing. And, keeping the communication lines open with God is where the healing begins.
Healing energy is prayer as we tap into God’s infinite wisdom and love. I witness the power of prayer every time someone contacts me for healing, and we help them regain their wellness – either in person or from a distance. Prayer is speaking from our heart and soul as we connect with God through love, gratitude, hope and healing.
Prayer is a state of mind. Rather than thinking that I should pray more on Sundays or at a particular time of day, I spend my days in quiet prayer as I focus on being grateful, loving others and always hoping for the best at any given moment. This way of being has changed the way I see the world, and has brought me inner peace like I have never known before. Prayer is so powerful. We actually receive more when we stop asking – treating God like some kind of wish granting Santa Claus. Many times my prayers are in total silence as I focus on listening rather than speaking.
I am eternally grateful as I thank God for the miracle that is my life. God and I have an arrangement. He blessed me with the gift of healing and I have a responsibility to share this with others. That’s the deal, and I always follow through on my commitments.
Each night I pray and send healing love to people and situations all over the world. I get to hear how prayers have been answered by those in pain who have contacted me directly. It is difficult for me to put into words how this makes me feel. The best word I can think of is love. Pure love. I feel love for those who we have helped. I say “we” because I get a lot of spiritual guidance from my guardian angels whenever I tap into God’s energy. I also feel infinite love for my Creator who has blessed us with the amazing gift of healing prayer. I remember the first time I heard “All You Need is Love” as a child. At the time, I thought it was just a catchy tune rather than a divine message for all of us to pay attention to. Love is indeed the most powerful force in the world.
The gift of healing has been around for as long as Man has walked the Earth. It has been called many things and taken the form of different modalities. It has also been rejected by too many due to closed minds, fear of the unknown and bliss in their unknowing. But, those who have experienced a healing understand the power of prayer, and the possibilities that are available to all of us when we tap into God’s love.
I believe in the power of healing prayer like nothing else in this world. Why wouldn’t I after watching so many people transform their lives by believing in the possibilities that healing can bring? Healing prayer is real; about as real as it gets. When we believe in ourselves as well as others, and in God’s infinite love for us, all things are possible.
A world without love and hope always seems to make the headlines. If you can make it through a newscast, you might be rewarded with a feel-good story at the very end of the segment. The usually brief positive story is always preceded by the latest tragedy, all of the sidebars and horrific updates crawling across the bottom of the screen. Man’s vicious inhumanity to his fellow man has never been more popular than it is right now. Unfortunately fear and deception are alive and well too. Sometimes, we wonder if there is ever going to be an end to all of the bad news. Prayer gives us hope.
Please remember this. God speaks to us in the quietest moments. We have to pay attention to the stillness. With all of the angst producing noise and endless chatter that bombards our senses, we might miss out on His message of hope and love that he is trying to send to us. Prayer is a two-way street. It’s a conversation with our Creator as we spend more time listening than we do speaking. How may I serve? Please show me the way.
Also, please remember this. God’s timing is not the same as ours. His timing is divine and always has the big picture in mind. In a world of instant gratification, patience is a virtue like no other. Believe in yourself, and in others and in the power of healing prayer.
