Dear Readers, I am writing a new book about my journey with Reiki. It has been quite an experience as I remember things from the past when my eyes were first opened to the wonder of Reiki. The newness of the healing energy has never worn off for me. This is why I write about it all the time. Below is an excerpt from Chapter 19, “Becoming a Reiki Master.” Hope you like it.
Sometime in 2014, I called my first Reiki Master and told him that I was thinking about become a Master. He told me that it was a very big decision and should not be made without plenty of Reiki, prayer and silence to hear the universe whisper in my ear. Keep in mind that when I was first attuned to Reiki Level I in 2012, I had no plans to go any further. But as time passed, the idea of sharing the amazing gift with others and teaching them about it intrigued me as I thought about it more and more. I had already seen enough of Reiki in action to know that I needed to pay attention when I would receive the gentle nudges and gut feelings with a certain knowing. I was learning to trust Reiki and life more.
I’m a walking example of how Reiki can work in our lives. Recently, I’ve rediscovered it yet again as life has thrown me some unwanted surprises. Without Reiki, I wouldn’t be in as good of a place as I am right now. That is the commitment we make when we become Reiki Masters. It’s important that we always keep the Reiki flowing as we strive to reach our Higher Self. Reiki deserves to be honored and we do that by truly walking the talk.
Self-healing is always important and that never leaves us once we are attuned to the higher vibration. Years ago, I wrote an article titled, “We Become Reiki.” It was published in the Summer 2016 issue of “Reiki News Magazine.” If we stay true to the spiritual path, there is no going back as we continue to learn new things and healing methods. As we help others, our cup must be full. We cannot serve from an empty cup. These are stressful times and Reiki has blessed me with the ability to roll with the punches better and keep myself well-grounded and ready to serve. God bless Reiki.
