I have been so blessed to be welcomed into the senior living industry with open arms from some of the most amazing people I have ever met. And, I’ve met a lot of people over the years.
Senior living professionals lead with their heart and deal with life and death situations on a regular basis. They always have to be on their ‘A game’, and that’s why Reiki is such a perfect companion for these folks. The healing energy keeps them grounded, balanced, focused and rested; in addition to helping with whatever else they may be dealing with at the moment.
Senior living workers can always use a little more love. Reiki is a very high form of unconditional love and love is still the most powerful force in the world – regardless of what the media wants us to believe. These people seem to always work longer hours than the standard 9-5. Evenings, weekends, holidays, it doesn’t matter. They look at every day as another opportunity to help a senior. Maybe that senior lost a loved one or is struggling with a new condition or is just lonely. There are a lot of lonely people out there and senior living professionals have a way of making them feel like family. It’s from their heart and genuine and a great thing to see every day of the week. Seeing others care for someone else is such a beautiful thing to experience.
It’s a mean old world out there and can be overwhelming for a senior. Senior living community staff help seniors in a loving way that makes the most of each precious moment. Reiki provides them with the loving guidance to shine an even brighter light on the situation. Most of the people who see me for Reiki sessions are nurses and caregivers. They know that they need it, and are so welcome to receiving the healing energy. Most fall asleep. If they do, I don’t ask them to turn over on the table half way through the session. I just let them sleep and keep the Reiki flowing.
