When my client first gets on the table and is settled, I use byosen scanning over their entire body to locate any blockages or areas that need Reiki. My non-dominant hand feels warm and tingly when it’s over a part of the body that needs attention. Also, I use a pendulum to see what I am dealing with visually. Where there is an area that needs Reiki’s flow, the pendulum will be still and vibrate over the spot or rotate in a counterclockwise direction. After receiving the healing energy, the pendulum rotates in a clockwise direction and then I know that I can move on. I repeat the scanning when the client has turned over onto their stomach. My sessions are thorough, and I do my very best to make sure the client is being nurtured the entire time.
After spending time at their crown, I will use different crystals and stones to place on their back. I always ask the client if the stone feels okay after lightly placing it on their back. I usually use Blue Kyanite at the base of their spine as it helps with balancing the chakras. Many of us carry our stress between our shoulder blades and at the base of our neck. I might use an Orthoceras to remove the tension or an Orthoceras globe cupped in my hand as I go over the shoulders and back. I also like to use an Orthoceras at the bottoms of their feet to draw out negative energies and pain. An “ortho” can activate the root chakra as it enhances the flow of Reiki and connects the recipient to ancient knowledge while reducing stress. The mighty Orthoceras is one of my favorite “go-to’s.”
While my client is on their stomach, I tap the singing pyramid a couple of times and hold it over their entire body moving from their feet to their head and stopping on areas that need more attention. The singing pyramid is very helpful in guiding me as the vibration makes it clear to me where sound healing is needed. I always tap it lightly rather than hitting it hard.
I visualize what I call the Holy Fire wave as my client rests on it. I gently raise and lower the wave 7x and then hold it steady to create a sensation of floating in complete bliss. Also, I work with 7 symbols and will make sure the client receives a healing attunement from me as I draw the symbols on the top of their head and send the powerful energy throughout their entire body.
After working on their lower extremities, I will “sweep” all low-lying energies through the bottoms of their feet. I also make sure that they are well grounded with my Reiki “ski boots.” The results can be significant as they feel so much lighter yet grounded. It’s a good place to be.
If a person is in a lot of physical pain, I will visualize the Reiki “drip” (a spiritual IV) to send the Power Symbol through their blood stream. And, if they are having a very difficult time emotionally, I will use the drip with the Emotional Symbol on their other hand.
Every Reiki session is completely different but always delivers relief and comfort to the person who is receiving. As a practitioner, I also receive the many benefits of channeling Reiki. Towards the end of the session, I wrap my client in my “Reiki Comforter.” This is a spiritual blanket that is made up of 7 layers – the sacred symbols that I work with. I visualize wrapping them in a puffy comforter and then finish by blowing into the air and saying to myself, “Light as a feather.” I then end the session by using the Raku symbol to separate.
I ask the client to take their time getting off the table and offer them water and a light snack like a granola bar. Before they leave, I want to make sure that they are well grounded and able to drive safely. Many clients fall asleep on the table and that is totally fine. The energy will still do what it needs to do whether they are awake or not.
Afterwards, the client shares their experience with me and once they leave, I will take notes to summarize the session and to help with any future treatments. I always recommend that people commit to three Reiki sessions over ten days if possible. I have seen extraordinary things happen after just one session, but I still recommend three sessions over ten days if that will work for them.
After the client leaves, I wash my hands, light some Palo Santo and clear the space.
To quote a client after a recent Reiki session, “That was amazing! I feel so much lighter.” Mission accomplished. I hope this article has been helpful. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read it.
