I used to be in the scent business and helped transform many spaces by simply making them smell better. “Less is more,” is something I said on a regular basis to the many prospects and customers that I worked with. When it comes to scent, a truer statement has never been spoken. But, with Reiki? Completely different story.

With Reiki, more always leads to more good things on many levels, and you can never have too much Reiki. The healing energy can do no harm as it heals physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. However, there is only so much energy a typical person can take in at any time. I know this from the many experiences I have had sharing Reiki with others.

This is why I always put so much emphasis on making sure someone is well grounded before they try getting off of my treatment table. Water bottles, chocolate and granola bars are my go to’s for anyone who has just experienced one of my Reiki sessions. They can be very powerful and the importance of grounding cannot be overstated. I know this from experience as I tend to learn everything the hard way – including the importance of grounding! (Thanks Brooke!)

Reiki always delivers what we need most and what is best for our Highest Good. Most of us usually need rest, more than anything else. I always ask new clients, “How have you been sleeping?” If you are in any kind of pain, you are probably not sleeping well. I would say probably 90% of the people who have received Reiki from me fall asleep during the session. In fact I tell them before the session that there is a good chance that they will fall asleep, but that is absolutely okay. The Reiki will still be received, thanks to their openness to the “miraculous medicine of all diseases.” Healing is a team effort and the recipient’s willingness to receive Reiki is where the magic begins. Thank you Dr. Mikao Usui, Reiki’s Founder, who described the healing energy that he discovered, so perfectly. “Miraculous medicine?” I could tell you stories…

There is such a need for Reiki in our world today. The entire planet would benefit from a healing attunement. With Reiki, there is never a shortage of people, animals, places or situations that will benefit from the healing energy. When I forget that, I am usually reminded by a loved one who needs some Reiki.

Lately, I have been sharing Reiki with loved ones who are closest to me. My heart breaks when I hear some of the painful stories that I hear from others, or see someone in pain. Reiki has given me the opportunity to play a small part in their healing. For that, I am eternally grateful and in this case, less certainly isn’t more. If you or a loved one are in any kind of pain, please consider Reiki. You’ll be glad that you did.
